The City of Evans Fire and Rescue Department is staffed with 9 highly motivated and professionally trained Fire Fighters, 3 Captains and 40 Reserve Fire Fighters. Along with a dedicated administrative staff, Evans Fire provides 24 hour coverage 7 days a week on a rotating 48/96 schedule.
Burn Permits
The city of Evans has adopted an ordinance restricting open burning within the Evans city limits. This ordinance prohibits all open burning with some exceptions for burning irrigation ditches and fence rows; small ceremonial fires and fire pits. Burn Permits must be obtained from the Evans Fire Department.
The Fire Department will perform an inspection for any open burning permit application. Please contact the Fire Marshals office for more Info on obtaining an open burn permit. 970-504-0754
Fire Hydrant Clearance
A clear zone must be maintained around each hydrant. A five (5) foot clear zone must be provided and maintained around each fire hydrant in our community. Questions may be directed to the Office of the Fire Marshal by calling 506-0754

Fireworks
It is unlawful to possess, store, offer for sale, sell at retail, use or explode any fireworks within the City. Contact the Fire Departmant at 506-0754 for more info
