Three Evans firefighters participated in this years annual Denver Memorial Stair Climb located at Denver's Qwest building. In all, 343 firefighters from 5 different states were represented in this years climb. Participants climb all 55 stories of the
building twice in rememberance of those firefighters lost on 9-11. Firefighters wear full gear and each participant wears a picture of a firefighter who died that day to honor them. Firefighters Travis Guthrie, Carlos Meza and Dan Bass participated in the event.
343, WE WILL NEVER FORGET!!!
The Fire department has been awarded a grant through the EMTS provider grant program. With the money that was awarded the Fire Department has purchased an Autopulse. This new piece of euipment increases blood flow through the heart during cardiac arrest situations by providing accurate chest compressions during CPR.
The Autopulse was put into service August 18th 2009.

A yearly event, National Night out is a chance for Evan's citizens to get to know their neighbors. Neighborhoods throughout the city have blocks parties in which the Fire Department, Police Department and Evan's council members attend. Members answer any questions citzens may have concerning day to day operations as well as just getting to know Evans citizens. Fire trucks are taken throughout the city where children can get an up close look. Evans Fire members participated again this year with over five pieces of apparatus.
